1. When are taxes due and delinquent?

  • Taxes for both Real Estate and Personal Property are due – Dec. 31st
  • 1st half is delinquent the following – May 1st
  • 2nd half is delinquent the following – September 1st
  • 14% statutory rate is charged on delinquencies

​2. When are real property taxes due?

  • Real property taxes are due December 31. The first half of the tax becomes delinquent on the following May 1 and the second half becomes delinquent on September 1.

3. When are personal property taxes due?

  • Personal property taxes are due December 31. The first half of the tax becomes delinquent on the following May 1 and the second half becomes delinquent on September 1. On the due date, the taxes become a first lien on all personal property you own. If the taxes are not paid, any personal property you own, whether taxable or not, is subject to seizure in order to satisfy the lien.

11. When can I renew my driver’s license?

  • You may renew your expiring Nebraska license within 90 days (not three months) prior to the expiration date. If you move to a new address, you should update your Nebraska license within 60 days. 

12. What if I lost my driver’s license?

  • If you lost your Nebraska license, you can obtain a DUPLICATE license. You can obtain a duplicate online if you hold a Class O (car), Class M (motorcycle), IIP (Ignition Interlock Permit) or State ID Card online if you have not obtained more than two duplicates online within the last five years. Please call (402) 887-4247 for details or order a duplicate Nebraska license online at: https://www.nebraska.gov/dmv/dlr/index.cgi
