Where to File - Candidate filing forms shall be filed with the following officials:

- Educational Service Unit
- Judicial Retention
- Natural Resource Districts
- Public Power Districts
- State or Congressional Offices
County Election Office
- County Offices
- Airport Authority
- School Board
- City
- Village Board Trustee – (general ballot only)
- Weed Control Authority – (general ballot only)
- Township Officials – (general ballot only)
Before filing for any County Office or Weed Control Authority Office a Statement of Financial Interests Form C-1 must be filled out and submitted to the filing officer.
December 6, 2013 – Last day to change party affiliation to meet member of party requirement on candidate filings (§32-612)
Filing Dates:
December 2, 2013 – First day a person may file for office to have their name place on the ballot as a candidate at the 2014 election.
February 18, 2014 – Last day for incumbents (any current office holder) to file for office on the primary ballot. You are an incumbent if you are currently holding an elected position.
March 3, 2014 – Last day for non-incumbents (new files) to file for office on the primary ballot.
The following offices do not appear on the primary ballot and therefore have a different filing date. If you are filing for Public Power Districts Board Members (grossing less than 40 million), Reclamation Districts, Education Service Unit Board Members, County Weed Boards, Township Officers, Village Board of Trustees, and Class II Schools the filing deadlines are:
July 15, 2014 – Last day for incumbents (any current office holder) not on the primary ballot to file for office on the general ballot.
August 1, 2014 – Last day for non-incumbents (new filers) not on the primary ballot to file for office on the general ballot.
